Since 2008, the “Open Door Industry Night” events have offered an insight into industrial enterprises.

Their aim is to connect the industry, as an economic and innovative force, with people from the local area by introducing interested visitors to fascinating products, manufacturing processes and jobs and by conveying the significance of these for the area. Participating businesses expect that the evening will foster a higher level of acceptance and a more positive image of the industry, while creating continuing interest among the local people in working in an industrial business.

In order to give local people a better understanding of the charms of an industrial company that is seen as a “hidden champion” in the automobile industry, VOSS Automotive took part in the event on June 5, 2018. In two groups, which were fully booked with over 50 people, the guests were able to experience different parts of the company related to the theme of “Innovative power”. These included the VOSS technical center, with its different processing methods for plastic products, the prototype workshop, which provides automotive manufacturers with pre-finished line modules in very short time frames, and “large-scale production”, where large quantities of quick connect systems made from brass and plastic are manufactured. One of the most interesting aspects was also, of course, the question as to where exactly the products are used in the different vehicles.

In the Herman Voss Forum, Dr. Thomas Röthig, Managing Director of VOSS Holding, gave a presentation to the guests about the VOSS Group, including the patron of the “Open Door Industry Night”, District Administrator Jochen Hagt. Due to the short amount of time available, many topics could only be discussed briefly during the presentations and the tour, which certainly left the guests wanting more.
